The Paris Shogi Association (ASP) is happy to announce that the France Championship 2026 will happen in Rueil-Malmaison (a suburb of Paris) on July 4th and 5th 2026.
It is paired with an open tournament that players of all levels and nationalities are welcome to join, with the following characteristics:
- 7 rounds
- 45 min + 30s byo-yomi
- pairings by a swiss median system, with mac-mahon extra points
- we’ll avoid pairing together people from the same club whenever possible
- games with handicap are allowed

Registration for the tournament itself costs 5€.

We don’t have deals with any hotel.
There are 4 hotels within a 10mn walk from the tournament room, costing from 79 to 120€ per night.
Food:
Sandwiches, drinks, and snacks will be sold on the premises.

(https://ligue-idf-shogi.fr/), another association encouraging shogi throughout the Paris greater area.
Other:
We are considering organizing a dinner on Saturday evening at a Japanese restaurant in Paris, but it is not guaranteed yet.
